Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test 2008 (EAMCET 2008)

A Common Entrance Test, designated as Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) of Andhra Pradesh is conducted by one of the state Universities for entry into the first year of the following professional courses offered in all engineering and medical colleges including Private as well as minority institutions affiliated to the University of Andhra, Kakatiya, Nagarjuna, Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural, JNTU, Osmania, Sri Krishnadevaraya , Sri Venkateswara and Regional Engineering College for Andhra Pradesh quota seats.

EAMCET Examination

EAMCET Examination Date: May 08, 2008

  • For Engineering Stream (E) 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM
  • For Medicine Stream (AM) 02.30 PM to 5.30 PM

Eligibility Criteria for EAMCET 2008:

A Student Appearing for an EAMCET Exam have to appear / complete 10+2 level of Exam ( Intermediate Examination conducted by Board of Intermediate incase of Andhra Pradesh).

Eligibility Criteria for Engineering Courses

  1. Pass in Intermediate Examination or appearance at 2nd year Intermediate Education ( 10 + 2 ) pattern conducted by the AP Board of Internediate Education with appropriate optional subjects or its equivalent thereto.
  2. Pass at Diploma Examination or appearance at 3rd year Diploma Examination in Engineering / Architecture conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, AP or its equivalent thereto. Diploma candidates are also eligible to apply for BE / B.Tech / B.Arch courses only.

Age: The Candidate has to complete 16 years by the time of December 31st of the Admission year.

Eligibility Criteria for Medical Courses: BiPC or its equivalent at 10+2 Level or Intermediate Level.

Age: Should be between 17 to 22 years by the time of Admission of that particular year. 16 years is enough for BPharm Course.

EAMCET 2008 Admission Procedure:

  • Candidates with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “E” category application for Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/B.Tech (Ag.Engg) /B.Tech (Dairying)/ B.Tech (FS&T) (MPC) /B.Sc (CA&BM) (MPC) and B. Pharm (MPC) courses.

  • Candidates with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “AM” category application for Agriculture (B.V.Sc., and A.H/B.Sc (Agr)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech (FS&T) (Bi.P.C)/B.Sc (CA&BM) (Bi.P.C)/ Medical (MBBS/BDS/ BAMS/BHMS/ BNYS) and B. Pharm (Bi.P.C) courses.

  • Eligible candidates who intend to seek admission to both the courses in 4.1 and 4.2 have to submit “E” and “AM” category applications in a single cover only, so that the same test center can be allotted for both the tests.

  • Applications form together with the enclosures including the “Instruction Booklet” can be had in person (not by post) on payment of Rs. 250/- (this amount covers the cost of application, fees for entrance test, and towards Service charges for Post offices) in cash AT ALL THE HEAD POST OFFICES AND ALL e-SEVA CENTRES within the state of Andhra Pradesh.

EAMCET 2008 RESULTS AND MODEL PAPERS

Examination Date: 08-05-2008

Eamcet results of eamcet 2008 will be the most awaiting results for all the intermediate students of Andhra Pradesh. While the total appearance will be more than 1.2 Lakh for Engineering and 60 thousand for Medicine, the serious attempts will be around 15-20% of it. So if you prepare well, you have a decent chance to score good rank. As the exam is going to be conducted on 8/05/08, Results can be expected to be out after 15 days, i.e. 23/05/08. All the best to all you guys. I will try to post the required handy material in this blog from time to time.
Eamcet 2008 results are expected to be released on 21 st of may 2008.

This is a fair guess based on the last years result announcement. Last year the exam was held on 4 th may 2007 and the result is announced on 17 th of the same month.

50 % of seats in private engineering colleges which include NRI candidates also.

Reservation - EAMCET Entrance Exam

EAMCET Entrance Exam of Seats is for SC/ST/BC/Physically handicapped, Games & Sports, NCC, children of Ex-serviceman / Defence personnel, Anglo Indian Community as per rules.

Selection - EAMCET Entrance Exam

EAMCET Entrance Exam is made according to the merit in EAMCET. The test consists of multiple choice object type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates who seek admission to 5-year BArch course have to appear for an Aptitude test separately, after qualifying the EAMCET. The aptitude test is conducted at JNTU, School of planning & Architecture, Hyderabad during September.
